Lorette's uncle was born in Batavia and around 1836 obtained his first job from Ebenezer Watts in nearby Rochester. In 1845 he married Lucinda Young and they had a son Edwin who died young, and Lucinda shortly after. They are all buried in Mt Hope Cemetery, Rochester.
